Overview
The most devastating viral disease of stone fruits worldwide, also known as Sharka disease. Causes ring spots on fruit and leaves, premature fruit drop, and reduced fruit quality.
Symptoms
Chlorotic rings and line patterns on leaves. Ring spots and depressions on fruit. Premature fruit drop. Fruit flesh may show brown necrotic rings. Reduced fruit quality and marketability.

Use certified virus-free nursery stock. Control aphid vectors. Quarantine and eradication programs. Plant resistant varieties where available. Regular monitoring and testing.
Management
No cure. Mandatory eradication in many countries. Remove and destroy infected trees. Buffer zones around orchards. Aphid control. Replant with certified clean stock.
