Moderately acidic and tart at harvest, mellowing in storage to a balanced sub-acid, rich, spicy flavor; firm, crisp, fine-grained flesh.
Visual Characteristics
Large fruit (about 70-76 mm diameter), round to slightly elongated, covered almost entirely by a glossy dark red overcolor.
Growing Tips
Matures roughly three weeks after Red Delicious and keeps excellent eating quality up to about six months in cold storage (~1C), making it well suited to extended storage and winter marketing.
