    Black Pepper(Piper nigrum)

    A high-yielding black pepper variety released by ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research, Calicut, as a selection from the cultivar Aimpiriyan. It is recognized for exceptional fruit set and high oleoresin.

    Flavor Profile

    High oleoresin content (around 12.5%), piperine about 4.7%.

    Visual Characteristics

    Spikes appear twisted due to very heavy fruit set (about 82% fruit set); excellent berry setting.

    Growing Tips

    High-yielding, regular-bearing variety for Kerala and South Karnataka; average dry yield about 2,828 kg/ha; not well suited to drought-prone areas.
