    Black Pepper(Piper nigrum)

    A black pepper variety released from the Pepper Research Station, Panniyur, developed as an open-pollinated progeny of the cultivar Balankotta. It is notable for being shade tolerant, unlike Panniyur-1.

    High-yielding vine with an alternate (biennial) bearing habit.

    Growing Tips

    Suitable for shaded situations; a high-yielding but alternate-bearing variety producing about 2,570 kg berries per year.
