    California poppy(Eschscholzia californica)

    A bicolor cultivar with rose to carmine-pink flowers, the deeper pink upper surface contrasting with paler reverses, blooming from late winter into early summer.

    Visual Characteristics

    Rose-carmine to deep pink four-petaled flowers, often paler on the reverse, with a yellow-orange center; fern-like bluish-green foliage; 12-18 in tall.

    Growing Tips

    Full sun with very little water once established; thrives in poor, well-drained soil. Sow direct in place. Blooms roughly February to June in mild climates.
