Bodegold

    Chamomile(Matricaria chamomilla)

    65 days to maturity

A widely grown improved German chamomile cultivar bred in Germany for intensive cultivation and tea/oil production. It is prized for large, uniform flowers, high essential oil content, early flowering, and a distinctly sweet aroma. Often described as a tetraploid strain.

    Flavor Profile

Notably sweet, honey-like apple scent with a fruity pineapple note; widely considered sweeter than most other chamomile strains, making it favored for herbal tea.

    Visual Characteristics

Classic white daisy-like ray florets around a golden-yellow domed center, borne on feathery, finely dissected foliage; upright plants roughly 2 to 2.5 feet (60-77 cm) tall with abundant large flowers (anthodia around 22 mm across).

    Growing Tips

A light-dependent germinator best surface-sown or barely covered; grow in full sun in well-drained soil. Begins blooming several weeks earlier than common strains, so succession sow for continuous harvest.
