    Clover(Trifolium)

A medium red clover (Trifolium pratense) released in 1947 by the Kentucky Agricultural Experiment Station that became the most widely used red clover variety in the United States. Bred for southern anthracnose resistance and adaptability, it is a short-lived perennial used for hay, pasture, silage, and as a nitrogen-fixing cover crop.

    Visual Characteristics

Upright growth with pink to red-purple flower heads; medium red clover type that regrows and reflowers after early-summer cutting.

    Growing Tips

Best suited to Kentucky and the central clover region; use in warm climates where anthracnose is a concern to extend stand longevity. Cut for hay, then allow reflowering.

    Resistance Information

    Disease Resistance

Resistant to southern anthracnose; noted for extending stand life in warm climates where anthracnose pressure is high.
