Visual Characteristics
Compact plant ~1.5-2 ft tall (to ~26 in.); vivid magenta-pink ray flowers in two tiers that never droop, atop sturdy dark wine-red to near-black stems with coarse dark green leaves; orange-bronze seed cones.
Growing Tips
Full sun and well-drained soil; long bloom June to August. Excellent cut flower and highly attractive to pollinators. A patented cultivar (propagation restricted).

Sturdy stems resist flopping; performs well in trials such as Mt. Cuba Center. Shares the species' typical susceptibility to aster yellows.
