Visual Characteristics
Upright clump-forming plant ~2.5-3.5 ft (up to 40 in.) tall and 1-1.5 ft wide on sturdy stems that rarely need staking; large daisy-like flowers to ~5 in. across with non-drooping rose-pink to rose-purple rays surrounding a cone of orange-brown disk flowers.
Growing Tips
Grow in full sun (tolerates part shade) in average, dry to medium, well-drained soil. Long midsummer bloom (late spring to late summer); leave seed heads for birds and winter interest.

Low-maintenance; occasional Japanese beetle and leaf spot problems and susceptible to aster yellows disease. Tolerant of drought, heat, humidity, deer, clay and poor/rocky soils.
