Leccino

    Olive(Olea Europea)

A vigorous, adaptable Italian oil cultivar valued for producing a mild, well-balanced oil and for ripening early and uniformly, which simplifies harvest.

    Flavor Profile

Sweet, fruity, rich and buttery oil with delicate cinnamon-spice notes; milder and less pungent than Frantoio, and popular for fresh 'olio nuovo'.

    Visual Characteristics

Vigorous tree with a dense, slightly drooping growth habit; fruit ripens early and simultaneously.

    Growing Tips

Its early, simultaneous ripening allows a single-pass harvest; not self-pollinating, so it is typically planted with a pollinizer such as Pendolino.

    Resistance Information

    Disease Resistance

Fairly resistant to olive knot and peacock spot and relatively cold-hardy, but sensitive to verticillium and highly susceptible to black scale and sooty mold.
