    A large-fruited yellow freestone peach from Michigan State University's South Haven 'haven' breeding series (introduced in the early 1950s), popular for heavy midsummer crops of nearly fuzz-free, non-browning fruit well suited to canning and freezing.

    Growing Tips

    Self-pollinating with a chill requirement of about 850 hours. Needs full sun and well-drained soil and will not tolerate standing water. A large, vigorous tree that ripens in mid-to-late summer and typically begins bearing in its second to fourth year.
