Arbrook

    Rhizoma peanut(Arachis glabrata)

A rhizoma perennial peanut cultivar released in 1985 jointly by the University of Florida and the USDA-NRCS Brooksville Plant Materials Center, primarily for hay or silage production though it can also be grazed. It is more upright-growing than 'Florigraze'.

    Visual Characteristics

A more upright growth habit with broader leaflets and coarser rhizomes than 'Florigraze', producing yellow-orange flowers.

    Growing Tips

Vegetatively established from rhizomes like other rhizoma peanuts; best suited to well-drained sandy soils and hay/silage systems rather than continuous grazing or heavy clay soils.

    Resistance Information

    Disease Resistance

Less tolerant than 'Florigraze' to grazing pressure and heavy soils, so it is used mainly for hay rather than continuous grazing.
