Henorico

    Rhizoma peanut(Arachis glabrata)

A rhizoma perennial peanut cultivar of Arachis glabrata released in 2007 by the University of Puerto Rico for forage/hay use, characterized as high-yielding for dry-matter production in tropical hay systems.

    Visual Characteristics

A rhizomatous, procumbent perennial legume forming dense stands, typical of the species with yellow-orange flowers.

    Growing Tips

High dry-matter yield potential but had the lowest crude protein concentration (about 14.7% at six-to-nine-week harvest) among cultivars compared, so harvest timing matters for forage quality; established vegetatively from rhizomes.
