Rhizoma peanut(Arachis glabrata)
A rhizoma peanut cultivar (Reg. No. CV-107, PI 262826) released by the University of Florida in 2008, originating from a 1959 collection in Paraguay. Selected over a multi-year evaluation for high dry-matter yields, highest percent pure peanut, and greatest vigor/spread.
Visual Characteristics
Forms a taller, less dense canopy than other cultivars (tallest sward among cultivars tested), a structure that favors hay production; produces high rhizome-root mass.
Growing Tips
Its taller, more open canopy suits hay production; like all rhizoma peanuts it is established vegetatively from rhizomes rather than seed.
Resistance Information
Disease Resistance
Shows improved field tolerance to peanut stunt virus compared with 'Florigraze'.
