Corpoica Dorada
Poha Berry(Poha Berry)
A commercial cape gooseberry variety released by AGROSAVIA/Corpoica in Colombia in 2016 and among the first three registered in Colombia's National Cultivar Registry; notably it was the first cape gooseberry variety generated in the laboratory through in vitro anther (pollen) culture. It was selected for larger, better-tasting fruit than the standard Ecotipo Colombia.
Flavor Profile
Superior flavor to the Colombia ecotype: sweeter but slightly more acidic, sought by market consumers
Visual Characteristics
Larger, more uniform fruit than the standard type, caliber roughly 18.1-20 mm diameter, with high firmness and reduced fruit cracking
Growing Tips
Recommended for commercial cultivation in Antioquia and the Boyaca-Cundinamarca region of Colombia; noted for strong export potential; developed at the Tibaitata Research Center
