St. John's Wort(Hypericum perforatum)
A named medicinal cultivar of Hypericum perforatum studied in in vitro culture research associated with Jagiellonian University (Krakow, Poland) and prized for rich flavonoid and phenolic content, including quercetin glycosides (hyperoside, quercitrin, rutoside) and aglycones. In cultured shoots it was among the highest accumulators of flavonoids and phenolic acids.
Visual Characteristics
Herbaceous perennial with the typical H. perforatum habit and star-shaped yellow flowers dotted with black glands; selected for lush growth and abundant flowering.
Growing Tips
Well suited to controlled cultivation and in vitro shoot culture for high-value flavonoid and hypericin production.
