Titan is one of the largest-headed sunflowers grown, developed for producing truly gigantic single blooms and abundant edible seeds. Reaching ten to twelve feet tall, it can bear a single head up to two feet across, densely packed with large grey-striped seeds excellent for roasting and popular with birds and wildlife. Its enormous scale makes it a favorite for competitive giant-sunflower growing and for producing seed at home. Like other giants, Titan needs full sun, rich fertile soil, ample water, and staking against wind to support the weight of its huge head. This open-pollinated variety is a dramatic seasonal screen and a productive seed source for permaculture gardens focused on wildlife food and homegrown snacks.
