Sri Gemunu

    Ceylon cinnamon(Cinnamomum verum)

    Flavor Profile

Strong, classic 'sweet cinnamon' bark aroma driven by high cinnamaldehyde content (~76% of bark oil), with smaller amounts of linalool, cinnamyl acetate, beta-phellandrene and eugenol; leaf oil is eugenol-dominant.

    Visual Characteristics

Distinguished from Sri Wijaya by its 'Type A' flower structure; accessions are separated on bark color, bark surface texture, bark odor, seed color and leaf traits (shape, venation, apex, length/width, petiole length, leaf area).

    Growing Tips

A high-oil-yielding commercial variety promoted by the Cinnamon Research Centre; recommended for cultivation with the Type B cultivar Sri Wijaya to enable cross-pollination, with reported yields up to roughly 600 kg per acre under good agricultural practices.
