Sri Wijaya

    Ceylon cinnamon(Cinnamomum verum)

    Flavor Profile

Milder, more complex bark aroma than Sri Gemunu: bark oil contains roughly 50% cinnamaldehyde (~50.2% reported) with notably higher eugenol (~15%), cinnamyl acetate (~10%) and benzyl benzoate (~10%), giving a more clove-like, spicy-warm character; leaf oil is eugenol-dominant.

    Visual Characteristics

Distinguished from Sri Gemunu by its 'Type B' flower structure; bark color, surface texture, bark odor and leaf morphology (shape, venation, apex, size) are used to differentiate DEA accessions.

    Growing Tips

A commercial variety recommended by the Cinnamon Research Centre; under good agricultural practices, quill yields of up to roughly 600 kg per acre are reported. Interplanting with the Type A cultivar Sri Gemunu supports cross-pollination.
