Oertel's Rose
Yarrow(Achillea millefolium)
A compact, well-behaved yarrow selection bearing clusters of rose-pink flowers that age to white, on plants that stay shorter and less floppy than most cultivars. Named for Mae Oertel, who selected the low-growing roadside form. Popular as a tidy front-of-border, cutting and pollinator plant.

Fine, ferny foliage is aromatic in the typical yarrow manner.
Visual Characteristics
Fine-textured green foliage; flat clusters of rose-pink florets fading to white. More compact than most, only about 12-15 inches (30-38 cm) tall in bloom, spreading 2-4 ft wide.
Growing Tips
Grow in full sun in average, dry to medium, well-drained soil. Drought- and heat-tolerant once established; deadhead to prolong bloom. Hardy roughly USDA zones 3-9.
