An improved cassava cultivar developed and released by ICAR-CTCRI (Central Tuber Crops Research Institute) in India and recommended for central release for Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala, bred for high yield combined with cassava mosaic disease resistance and stress tolerance.
Visual Characteristics
A tall, top-branching plant with silver-grey stems and light green petioles; cylindrical tubers with cream skin, cream rind, and white flesh, with starch content around 27-28%.
Growing Tips
Matures in about 9-10 months and yields roughly 45-50 tons per hectare (potential yield reported up to ~61-70 t/ha). Notable for high nutrient use efficiency and drought tolerance.
