Fiji Dwarf

    Coconut(Cocos nucifera)

    Flavor Profile

Exceptionally sweet coconut water (especially in summer) with thick, abundant meat; regarded by many growers as among the best-tasting cultivars.

    Visual Characteristics

Distinctively thick, swollen trunk base with a dense, compact crown and tight leaflets; very slow vertical growth (often under 15 ft even at 20-30 years). Large rounded nuts that are smooth green or bronze when young, browning at maturity.

    Growing Tips

Begins bearing at about 3-4 years or once 0.5-2 ft of grey trunk wood forms. Buy from reputable nurseries to avoid hybrids, and verify authenticity by tight leaflets, compact growth rings, and dense canopy.

    Resistance Information

    Disease Resistance

Very high resistance to Lethal Yellowing in pure form; hybrids do not retain this resistance.
