Growing Tips
A quick spring radish maturing in only about 25 to 30 days, Purple Plum is direct-sown in cool weather in full sun and loose, well-drained soil. Sow seed shallowly about half an inch deep and thin to roughly 1 to 2 inches apart for well-shaped roots, and keep the soil evenly moist to hold the flesh crisp and mild. Sow small batches every couple of weeks for a continuous supply, and harvest promptly once sized, since heat and overmaturity turn radishes pithy and sharp. Excellent for spring and fall plantings.
