Visual Characteristics
Large heart-shaped leaves with a deep purple-black background between bright green veins, on long stems; a bold foliage plant reaching about 3-5 ft tall, similar in stature to other elephant-ear taros.
Growing Tips
Like other Colocasia esculenta, prefers part sun to full sun with consistently moist to wet soil (tolerates a few inches of standing water); hardy in USDA Zones 8-11, lift corms before frost in colder zones.
