Moi

Good poi and table taro; high gumminess ('ulika) makes it easy to pound (ku'i) into poi, especially when the corm is warm.

Medium-height, well-spreading plant. Corm is white with a light pinkish tinge (especially near the apex) and yellow fibers, with pale-pink skin; slender, drooping light-green petioles 60-85 cm long with a pink ring at the base.

Grown mainly under mala (upland) culture but also does well in lo'i (wetland); matures in about 9-12 months and produces 5-10 offshoots (oha).
